SBI HIGH SCHOOL
Our yoga program at SBI High School has been an important facet of our work at Three and a Half Acres Yoga. Once a week, we hold after-school sessions that consistently draw over fifty high schoolers to unwind and find balance through yoga. Each class focuses specifically on breathing techniques and observation overreaction. We also facilitate team balancing exercises that build trust and community among students. Over the course of the semester, we teach our SBI students that breath and mindfulness are a healthy and productive response to dealing with emotional, physical and social challenges that youth often face.
What students had to say about class:
“I did Sun Salutations at home because I was feeling so stressed, and it really helped. That’s why I came to class today because I’m feeling stressed.”
“I like yoga because it’s relaxing.”
“The breathing helps me fall asleep at night.”
