We hope this message finds you well during this difficult time. As you know our annual ‘Celebrate Harlem’ gala has been postponed due to COVID-19. However, we want to still celebrate Harlem in a different way by supporting our local Harlem restaurants as we know they have been hit the hardest.
We are calling out to ALL yoga teachers ANYWHERE in the world! We are moving our Trauma Yoga Teacher training online, so now anyone can participate who has access to the internet! We have a few more spots open for registered yoga instructors for our May 2nd-3rd training!
The Three and a Half Acres family is sending lots of love to our friends & supporters. In order to ensure the safety of our teachers and to comply with experts and officials, we are placing our programs on pause.
This past weekend, Three and a Half Acres added eight new yoga instructors to our team! The training was originally supposed to take place in Washington, D.C. and instead was brought online to our DMV group.
In the interest of our communities, we are postponing our annual Three and a Half Acres Yoga gala, currently scheduled for March 31, 2020. We expect to announce a new Summer date for the gala soon. We look forward to seeing and being with all of you then to support THAY’s mission to foster healthy, mindful, and connected community.
We would like to take a minute to highlight Women’s History Month and recognize the ways Three and a Half Acres supports women year round. Did you know that THAY’s board members are all POWERFUL women!? These dedicated ladies contribute a wealth of knowledge from their diverse backgrounds in order to make our organization thrive.
Three and a Half Acres is honored to have Jazz vocalist Candice Hoyes performing at our 7th annual Celebrate Harlem Gala on March 31st!
Candice Hoyes is bound to “shape the modern musician-cum-activist role,” an artist “intentional about making music that reflects the world she lives in, as well as sounding great and grooving.” NPR
We have some exciting news! We are thrilled to announce that our 2019 honoree Ivo Philbert will be back as the host of this years Celebrate Harlem gala!
Ivo is the Vice President, External Relations and Special Projects for the Jackie Robinson Foundation, He is active in our community as a mentor and sits in the board of organizations like Harlem Eat Up, and the CouncilHim Foundation. We can’t wait to have his positivity shining in the room again this year with our other amazing guests of honor.
Did you purchase your tickets yet?! Our 7th Annual Gala will be held on Tuesday, March 31st 2020 to raise awareness for our mission of bringing yoga and mindfulness techniques to under represented individuals and groups. We believe by offering these tools we can support these individuals in recognizing their own power for positive change.
The word is out! We will be hosting our 7th Annual Gala Tuesday, March 31st 2020 to support Three and a Half Acres Yoga! Join us as we Celebrate Harlem and support THAY in its ongoing mission to bring yoga and mindfulness tools to more communities!
Some children from Harlem are getting all the benefits of a yoga class, while also getting to know the police in their neighborhood. The officers attending the class are from 28th Precinct in West Harlem. They say they believe these interactions build trust with young people who are sometimes wary of them.
Please join us at our 7th Annual Gala Tuesday, March 31st 2020 to support Three and a Half Acres Yoga (“THAY”)—a non-profit organization empowering our communities through yoga, breathing and mindfulness techniques.
