Bollywood in Harlem!

The swirls of bright colors and bindis could not be missed on March 15th, as Harlem’s finest gathered at Ginny’s Supper Club in the Red Rooster for a night of dancing, delicious food, henna, an exciting auction, honoring important community members, and celebrating and supporting Three and a Half Acres.

Highlights of the evening included a wonderful performance by Beauty and a Beat, a local Bollywood dance company, along with Henna art by Lisa Butterworth of Kenzi.

Exciting silent and live auctions featured beautiful artwork, getaways, gift certificates, and other exciting goodies from local businesses.

Stacey Parker Le Melle was the well-deserving honoree of the evening, as her activism for social justice both in our Harlem neighborhood and in the greater world has touched many lives.

All in all, the greatest highlight was the generosity and community that gathered to be the backbone of all Three and a Half Acres has, and will accomplish. So many came out to give Three and a Half Acres their true best and ensure the organization could continue to work towards using the power of the Ashtanga yoga tradition to heal and empower residents and community leaders. For this, we are ever grateful.
